Brooklyn Moose
The Brooklyn Moose is our travel sports program, built on the Mindful Sports philosophy of developing thoughtful and resilient young athletes. We combine high-level professional coaching with a supportive, growth-oriented environment to help motivated players reach their full potential. Our goal is to prepare players for high school and college sports – while fostering the focus, discipline, and love of the game that will carry them far beyond the field or court. Serious, competitive, mindful, and fun – that’s the Moose way!

Program Structure and Expectations
Brooklyn Moose travel players and families commit to development and process. We’re about competitive, serious, and fun.
• Attendance at practices and games is required. However, we understand baseball is a family commitment. Just as we meet children where they are, we meet families where they are. We ask for advance communication regarding dates children cannot attend practices and games.
• Players and families must always model Brooklyn Moose values, beginning with a commitment to facilitating a safe and inclusive environment at all times. This includes the expectation that players foster a leadership approach with other children while in school during the day. Reports of bullying may be grounds for team dismissal.
• Our focus is the development of young athletes for high school and college sports. We approach this goal through hard work, dedication, and resilience.
• Summer is optional, and will be discussed with the families of teams. Moose Sports Camps will be available!
• “Secondary” Seasons (Fall for Baseball and Spring for Soccer) are not mandatory for registration. Just as we support family time, we support children playing multiple sports. The Secondary Seasons will be discussed with the families of each team.
• August and Nov-Dec are down months for baseball, in which we strongly encourage throwing breaks for arm recovery and care.
• Unlike Mindful Sports After-School and Camps, which are wholly centered on optimal experience for children, Brooklyn Moose travel sports also provides optimal performance training. Players participate in an age-appropriate optimal performance training program based on mindfulness self-regulation strategies and psychophysiology. The training is maintained through the season.
• Travel is primarily NYC/tri-state, with occasional events communicated well in advance,
Group baseball evaluation dates have passed. Please email us at moose@mindful-sports.com to inquire about individual baseball evaluations. Soccer and basketball evaluations will be announced in May and September.

What is a Moose?
For us, the Moose signals a confident and composed approach to baseball. The Moose symbolism of self-assurance means standing tall in your individuality and trusting your teammates, moving through challenges with poise. That’s the mindset we coach into every rep, every inning, and every game.
The Moose embodies strength, endurance, and adaptability. An animal resilient in tough terrain, yet notably calm and gentle. These are perfect traits for navigating the emotional peaks and valleys of baseball. Moose antlers are widely seen as a sign of authority, power, and protection; for our team that translates to playing the game the right way, being the best teammates they can be, and leading with integrity. Moose spirit reminds young athletes to work hard, stay connected to each other, and helps to teach them how to manage sports pressure and stress to grow with each season.
