Summer Programs for Kids

Summer 2020

Mindful Sports Summer Programs are an awesome way to spend a summer in Brooklyn! Children ages 6-12 enjoy a full day of sports, with valuable and fun sports themed mindfulness integrated into engaging games and activities.

Mindful Sports Summer Camp 2020 is currently SOLD OUT. There are spots left for our private sports training and small group sessions after-camp.

Summer Program Details

Mindful Sports Summer Program

Start: July 20th

End: September 4th

Days: Monday – Friday

Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm

Early Drop-Off: 8:30am – 9:00am

Location: Prospect Park by Grand Army Plaza

Ages: 6-12

Sports: Baseball, kickball, soccer, flag-football, and more!

Weekly Cost: $495 $450 (Special Discount Rate – All Summer)

Daily Drop-In: $125

Early Drop-Off: $40/week or $10/drop-in-day

[My son’s] experience with Mindful Sports has been amazing!  Working with the Mindful Sports Team, [my son] has grown as an athlete and a teammate and has improved his ability to get through frustration on the field.  Mindful Sports meets each kid at their own level and guides them to be better.  It teaches how to strive to improve and win while also building a positive, supportive and inclusive team environment with positive skills for problem solving and self-regulation.

Summer FAQs

9:00am – 9:30am: Fun Arrival Time Sports Games

9:30am – 9:50am: Introductions, Day Plan/Theme

9:50am – 10:15am: Athletic Warm Ups

10:20am – 11:20am: Skills and Drills and Games

11:20am – 11:30am: Snack

11:30am – 12:30pm: Morning Games

12:30pm – 1:15pm: Lunch

1:30pm – 1:50pm: Afternoon Mini Games

1:50pm – 2:50pm: Afternoon Games

3:00pm: Dismissal

Yes, extended-day runs from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and is $150/week or $40/day.

All kids are taught age-appropriate mindfulness skills through sports. Kids learn:

• An understanding of what mindfulness is

• Mindful listening, breathing, and body awareness

• How to use mindfulness skills with sports

• How to use mindfulness skills off the field

• Importance of teamwork, respect for others, resilience, kindness, and mindful leadership

Kids should wear athletic clothes and bring a snack, a lunch, and a water bottle to camp. Kids are welcome to bring their own athletic equipment, but all equipment is also provided.

This summer, our camp will be operating at a 5:1 counselor-to-kid ratio.

Sports and games will vary and rotate day by day. Kids will have choices and options during the camp day as a group to vote and decide on different sports.

We do allow select five-year olds into camp. However, they need to have attended a Mindful Sports program in the past and/or receive permission from the camp director. Please contact us at contact@mindful-sports.com for details.
